Doodling. What comes into your mind when you think of that word? Idk... A doodle of food? A doodle of a cute panda holding bamboo? A doodle of a pretty handbag with eyes? Animal Crossing doodles? Anime doodles? Minecraft doodles?
I could go on and on.
But what does doodling mean to YOU?
For me, It's like a wild imagination full of colourful pages, like a book. It is like swimming in an Olympic-sized swimming pool full of doodles of sandwiches, cake, animals, pets. For me, it is like wading through deep puddles of imagination and never seeming to get enough of the particular imaginative sensation of DOODLES.
I doodle the word doodle, even.
Sometimes when life gets too stressful for me, I have to wade into an imaginative world just to get away from the horrors of real life. Sometimes you find out something you didn't want to. It's just life, but if you step into the doodle bubble you find that you can calm yourself with the tiniest of doodles. It could be a place where trees are blue and the grass is pink. It could be a place where underwater creatures roam the night sky. It could be a place where the sky never ends and the clouds rain popcorn. Make your place special. Make it yours.
But. Is there any right or wrong with doodling?
no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. no. nooooooooooooooooooooo. 100% no. and there will never be a wrong. It is your creation. Your escape. Your forest, your sea, your sky, your universe, your world. It is yours. You made it. Don't let a bad cloud hover over you and let YOU doubt your wonderful doodle. Just like you are amazing the way you are, your doodle is amazing the way it is too.
If you've never doodled before, why not try now? It's easy to simply pick up a pen and start. You don't need any skills, any talents, any abilities, any thoughts. The only things you need to be able to do is pick up your pen and use your hands to doodle. Believe it or not, that's it. It might seem obvious but I once had a friend who couldn't doodle. She just couldn't. Every time she put her pen on the paper, her mind went blank.
I appreciate that some people can't imagine things and can't get into their own little world, but that's ok. Picture things instead. Picture that you are riding the ocean and tackling a fat wave, or being hunted down by snakes in the forest, or flying in the sky like a bird. You don't necessarily have to pick up a pen. Do it any way you want!
SO...
What are you waiting for? Go and draw or imagine your doodle world, yours, created by you, escape to your world and be your wonderful self in a wonderful doodle world. Let your imagination run free in your own, imaginative doodle world.
Hope you loved this!
Mariam :) :)
P.s the picture below isn't really the best I could do since I was doing it on my computer. I'm
just saying this 'coz I don't want anyone to underestimate my doodles (scoff scoff.).
